How do we start the renovation process?

After you contact us, we usually begin with a conversation with the aim to better understand your vision. We ask our clients to email us a few pictures of the area to be renovated, along with some basic measurements. Our team will review the information and determine a preliminary cost estimate, if this is within your budget we will come to your home to take accurate measurements and collect further details. We will then work with you to determine a final project design, and we will provide a detailed cost estimate before we begin.

How much does a renovation cost?

Using one of the more popular renovations as an example, the expense to renovate a kitchen varies greatly depending on the size of the space, the quality of materials used, and whether you change the layout of the room. A basic Kitchen refresh might be more affordable that you think. Techniques such as refacing or repainting existing cabinetry and maintaining the same layout will help to keep costs down. A more basic 12x10' kitchen can start from around $20,000. Larger more elaborate kitchens with changes in layout, custom storage solutions, quartz countertops and top of the line appliances can easily reach $50,000 or higher. No matter what part of the home, we can work with you to focus on the upgrades that will produce the most dramatic results for the amount of money spent.

Do I need a Permit?

Simple home repairs and updates typically do not require building permits. Home additions or major alterations particularly those that involve structural work, major changes to the buildings electrical, heating, and plumbing systems require that you obtain a City of Ottawa Building Permit and an Ontario ESA Electrical Permit. For your project, we can take care of the process to obtain any permits that may be required.

How long will my renovation take?

The obvious answer is that the length of time required will vary depending on the size and complexity of the project. One thing we can promise, however, is that when we start your project, we will be there each and every day, ready to work. We do not jump from job-site to job-site, and we do not start a project and then disappear for weeks before coming back for the next steps.
